The Brixton 3270 Open Client is a feature-rich 3270 emulator for theWindows(TM) desktop. The Open Client supports the full functionality of a3270 terminal and a 3287 printer, as well as file transfer, so PCs andworkstations can connect to IBM mainframe applications over a TCP/IIP orIPX/SPX network. With the Open client, users of Windows and WindowsNT(TM) systems can conduct interactive queries of mainframe applicationssuch as TSO, CICS(TM), IMS(TM), and NetView(R). Only display emulationtakes place on the worksation, optimizing it for application processingrather than protocol handling. In addition, the Open Client includesTN3270E support, providing a more comprehensive emulation of 3270 devicesand enabling users to print locally at their PCs via Telnet.This enhanced functionality is matched by improved ease of use, making iteasier for non-mainframe users to benefit from legacy applications, aswell as shortening the learning cycle and reducing training costs.
